It uses country, plan, theme and admin-language filters to reject Track123 before the app runs a single line of code. For a Swiss store that message is the final answer, not a bug to work around. Track123 offers several subscription plans, including a free Starter plan and paid Growth and Advanced tiers with varying order limits. The listing does not document Swiss Post in its carrier list. Confirm the block with the checklist below, then choose a tracking app that installs in Switzerland and lists Swiss Post. This is Swiss E-Com Guides, and this page is written for merchants running a Shopify store registered in Switzerland. Track123 is an order-tracking app for Shopify that provides a branded tracking page, automated notifications, and multi-carrier tracking across a wide range of carriers. It supports multilingual tracking pages for stores serving customers in more than one language. The question here is not what it does. It is why it will not install on your store, and whether you should want it to. Most Shopify app guides are written for sellers inside the EU single market or the US. Switzerland is in neither. A store registered in Zürich or Genève hits filters that a German or French store never sees. If you are setting up a store, start with our [Shopify Switzerland setup guide](https://swissecomguides.com/shopify-switzerland-setup-guide/) before you evaluate any tracking app. Swiss e-commerce is not small. According to a 2023 HWZ study cited by [Statista](https://de.statista.com/themen/2868/e-comerce-in-der-schweiz/), 76 percent of surveyed Swiss people bought online monthly or more often. Statista lists the online share of Swiss B2C retail sales at 12.5 percent. Those customers expect tracking links that work. ## Table of contents - [What "not compatible with your store" actually means](#what-not-compatible-means) - [Why the gate stops a Swiss store](#why-gate-stops-swiss-store) - [Does Track123 track Swiss Post?](#does-track123-track-swiss-post) - [The workarounds that do not work](#workarounds-that-do-not-work) - [When to skip Track123 for your Swiss store](#when-to-skip-track123-swiss-store) - [One decision rule for a Swiss store](#one-decision-rule-swiss-store) - [Checklist: confirm the block, then choose your app](#checklist-confirm-block-choose-app) - [Frequently asked questions](#frequently-asked-questions) - [Sources](#sources) ## What "not compatible with your store" actually means The error is not a Track123 defect. It is Shopify's install gate. Clicking "Add app" on the [Track123 listing](https://apps.shopify.com/track123) triggers a compatibility check. Shopify then verifies your store against specific filters before adding the app. Country, plan, theme architecture and admin language each feed the verdict. If any filter fails, the install stops. The message gives no error code and no link to a fix. That is deliberate. The gate returns a single binary answer, and Shopify leaves the diagnosis to you. For a Swiss store the gate matters because most app documentation is written for EU or US merchants. A filter set for EU stores can exclude a store registered in Switzerland without explanation. The Track123 listing does not name the countries it supports, so you cannot check eligibility before clicking. ## Why the gate stops a Swiss store Four store settings feed the gate. Each takes under two minutes to check. Your store country is set when you create the Shopify account. A store registered in Switzerland is a CH store, and some apps restrict availability by country. Your plan, whether Basic, Grow or Advanced, can also gate installs, though Track123's listing does not publish a plan requirement. Your theme must be Online Store 2.0 for most current apps; a vintage theme can trigger the block. Your admin language is the last filter. None of these is a reason to contact Shopify support. Each is a setting you can read and change in the admin. But even when all four pass, the gate can still block the install on criteria Shopify does not document. The honest reading: if the gate blocks Track123 on your store, no amount of settings adjustment guarantees an install. The verdict is final for your configuration. ## Does Track123 track Swiss Post? This is the question the error hides. Track123's App Store listing claims support for over 1,400 carriers. One page says 1,400, another says 1,500, a third says 1,700. The listing does not name Swiss Post or Post CH in any public carrier list we could find. That does not mean Swiss Post is absent. It means the listing does not confirm it. Swiss Post is the default carrier for domestic Swiss parcels. If your store ships from a Swiss warehouse to Swiss addresses, most parcels leave with a Swiss Post tracking number. A tracking app that cannot map those numbers to a Swiss Post tracking page gives your customers a broken link. The carrier count matters less than it looks. "1,400 carriers" includes DHL, UPS and FedEx, but a Swiss domestic store needs one carrier above all others. If the app's public pages do not document Swiss Post, the gate has saved you from configuring an app that may not serve your primary shipper. When a carrier list cannot be verified, the honest answer is to say so. Track123's public pages do not confirm Swiss Post. That is this article's finding, not a guess. ## The workarounds that do not work Three bypasses appear in Shopify forums when an app is blocked. None solves the Swiss Post question. A private app install bypasses the App Store gate through the Shopify Partner dashboard. The app runs on your store. But the carrier list is the same, and if Swiss Post is not in it, the tracking page still breaks for domestic parcels. Code injection, pasting a tracking widget into your theme, avoids the install entirely. You lose the automated notifications, the order-sync and the admin integration. You also take on the maintenance of that code every time Shopify updates the theme architecture. Resetting your store country to Germany or France to fool the gate is the worst option. It changes your currency display, your tax tables and your Shopify Payments eligibility. The Federal Tax Administration (ESTV/AFC) sets your MWST obligations by where your business is, not by what your admin says. Lying about the country creates a tax mismatch that costs more than any tracking subscription. ## When to skip Track123 for your Swiss store The install gate is one reason to skip Track123. There are four more. **Low order volume.** If you ship fewer than 50 orders a month, the free Starter plan covers you. But Shopify's native order status page also covers you, and it costs nothing. The Nielsen Norman Group's [ecommerce UX series](https://www.nngroup.com/reports/ecomerce-user-experience/) provides extensive design guidelines based on decades of research. Shopify's built-in order status page already follows most of them. A dedicated tracking app at low volume is overhead, not an improvement. **Single carrier.** If your store ships domestically with Swiss Post and nothing else, multi-carrier tracking is a feature you pay for and never use. The 1,400-carrier list is marketing volume, not a Swiss shipping solution. **CHF revenue, USD billing.** Track123's plans are priced in US dollars. Your store sells in CHF. Every monthly subscription is a currency conversion at whatever rate your bank sets. The CHF amount on your statement will not match the USD price you agreed to. For a Swiss store on [Shopify Payments in Switzerland](https://swissecomguides.com/shopify-payments-switzerland/), the cleanest billing is in the same currency you collect. **Data protection.** Track123 is a foreign app processing Swiss customer data. The Federal Data Protection and Information Commissioner (FDPIC/EDÖB) decides on standard data protection clauses within 90 days under Article 10 paragraph 2 of the [DSV](https://www.edoeb.admin.ch/de/bekanntgabe-von-personendaten-ins-ausland). The Swiss-U.S. Data Privacy Framework came into force on 15 September 2024, adding the USA to the state list in Annex 1 DSV. That framework governs data flows to US providers. It does not eliminate the need to check whether a tracking app's data processing fits your obligations under Swiss law. Track123's App Store listing, checked on 30 August 2026, prices three plans: | Plan | Monthly price | Orders included | Per extra order | |------|-------------|----------------|----------------| | Starter | Free | 50 | n/a | | Growth | USD 9 | 300 | USD 0.05 | | Advanced | USD 49 | 2,000 | USD 0.05 | Prices can change; the App Store listing is authoritative. Baymard reported on 25 March 2025 that [54 percent of ecommerce sites](https://baymard.com/blog/post-checkout-ux-best-practices) do not wait until the purchase confirmation to offer account creation. A tracking page is a post-purchase touchpoint; adding one you do not need risks friction Shopify's native order status page already avoids. The gate is doing you a favour. For a Swiss store shipping domestically with Swiss Post, Shopify's native order status page handles the basics without a monthly subscription or a USD billing line. If you ship into the EU, you need a tracking app that confirms Swiss Post for domestic parcels and DHL for cross-border ones. Track123, whose listing does not document Swiss Post, fails that test before you reach the pricing table. ## One decision rule for a Swiss store Treat the install error as market intelligence. If an app's public pages do not document Swiss Post, the app is not built for your primary carrier. Decide by carrier coverage first, price second. A free plan that cannot track your parcels is not free; it is a cost in broken links and customer-service tickets. Shopify's native order status page handles domestic Swiss orders without an app, and the Shop app pulls tracking from the fulfilment data Shopify already holds. If you ship into the EU, the customs border adds a second carrier. Read our guides on [selling to the EU from Switzerland](https://swissecomguides.com/selling-to-eu-from-switzerland/) and [customs on Swiss parcels](https://swissecomguides.com/customs-on-swiss-parcels/) before you choose a tracking app. An app that covers Swiss Post for domestic and DHL for cross-border is the minimum viable set. Never force an app the gate has rejected. The block exists because the developer has not certified it for your store configuration. A workaround that breaks the gate also breaks the support contract. ## Checklist: confirm the block, then choose your app Here is a five-point list you can work through in under ten minutes. Run it before you look at a single alternative. 1. Open the [Track123 listing](https://apps.shopify.com/track123) and click "Add app" to confirm the error appears. 2. Check your store country in Settings, General; it should read Switzerland. 3. Note your admin language in Settings, General; English, German and French are all common. 4. Verify your theme is Online Store 2.0 in Online Store, Themes; vintage themes can trigger the block. 5. Search the Track123 listing for "Swiss Post" or "Post CH"; if neither appears, the carrier list is unconfirmed. **Check the current plans on the listing:** [Track123](https://platform.shoffi.app/r/rl_vkMrViH0) *(affiliate link to the app developer)* Two post-install edge cases are worth knowing even if the gate lets you through. Fulfilment apps can overwrite tracking numbers after Track123 syncs, leaving the customer with a stale link. The free plan's 50-order quota resets monthly; a single busy week can exhaust it and switch the tracking page to a paid tier without warning. If the checklist confirms the block, the answer is a different app, not a workaround. Shopify's native tracking handles domestic Swiss parcels; if you need more, pick an app that installs cleanly and names Swiss Post in its carrier list. ## Frequently asked questions ### Why can't I install Track123 on my Swiss Shopify store? The "not compatible" message means Shopify's install gate has checked your store's country, plan, theme and admin language and returned a negative verdict. The gate runs before the app is added, and Track123's listing does not publish which countries or plans it supports. If you see the message on one store but not another, the difference is in the store settings, not in Track123 itself. ### Does Track123 support Swiss Post or Swiss parcel carriers? Track123 claims over 1,400 carriers on its App Store listing. However, it does not name Swiss Post or Post CH in any public carrier list we could find, as of 30 August 2026. You can search the carrier list on the listing page before clicking "Add app." If Swiss Post is not listed, there is no way to add it manually after installation. ### What does "This app isn't compatible with your store" mean and how do I fix it? The message is Shopify's install gate, not a Track123 error code. It checks country, plan, theme architecture and admin language, then returns a single verdict with no detail. Shopify does not publish which filter triggered the block. The only way to test a fix is to change one setting, retry the install, and repeat until it passes or you give up. ### Can I use Track123 if my store is in Switzerland but my admin language is German, French or Italian? Your admin language is one of four filters the gate checks. Shopify supports various languages for its admin interface, though app developers have the option to restrict availability to specific ones. If the block persists after switching your admin language to English, the cause is likely the country filter, not the language. Changing your admin language does not change your store's country or your MWST obligations under the ESTV. ## Sources 1.
