Upsell.com pricing: what order volume costs in CHF
Upsell.com bands Shopify pricing by monthly orders or upsell revenue. Only dev stores get a free plan. Fees run in USD, so the CHF cost drifts with the rate.

Upsell.com Conversion
The short version: Upsell.com's ReConvert shows a one-click offer on the thank-you page after payment clears, and provides order-status updates and package tracking for Shopify orders. The listing's paid plans band by monthly orders or upsell revenue, and charges increase as either climbs; free access is limited to development stores. That structure is stated on the listing, checked on 30 August 2026. The post-purchase one-click funnel is the feature that separates it from commodity upsell apps; cart offers, bundles and pop-ups are features available in flat-fee apps too. The fee is charged in USD, so your cost in francs drifts with the exchange rate. Verify currency display and checkout compatibility before installing, then measure the lift in Shopify's reports over 30 days.
Most merchants ask which upsell app has the most features. The better question is which feature is worth paying a monthly subscription for. If you are setting up a store for the Swiss market, our Shopify Switzerland setup guide covers the platform basics. This page covers one app and one decision: does ReConvert's post-purchase funnel earn its fee?
The Swiss angle is not decorative. Your revenue is in CHF. The app bills in USD. If you sell across the border into Germany, France or Italy, the post-purchase offer must render in the buyer's currency. And the checkout setup that Shopify Payments in Switzerland relies on is exactly where post-purchase funnels break.
The one job ReConvert should do
The post-purchase one-click funnel. That is the one feature that justifies a paid plan.
Everything else in ReConvert's feature list is a commodity. Cart-drawer offers, frequently-bought-together blocks, product-page cross-sells, pop-ups, order bumps. You can buy those from a flat-fee app for a few francs a month, with no extra percentage taken from your revenue.
Baymard Institute's large-scale checkout testing, published in 2026, found that 66% of users who had initiated checkout and then hit a separate cross-sell step exhibited extreme frustration. The same research observed that 52% of desktop sites do not do enough to improve cross-sell relevance in the cart.
A further 68% are missing one or more list-item attributes needed for cross-sell recommendations. Baymard's benchmark contains 379 cross-sell design examples sourced from 344 e-commerce sites. Cross-sell design is well-trodden ground. You do not need a revenue-share app to do it adequately.
The post-purchase offer is different. It sits inside Shopify's checkout extension point, where most flat-fee apps cannot reach. That narrowness is why ReConvert can charge a premium.
What the pricing page does and does not say in CHF
The listing at https://apps.shopify.com/reconvert-upsell-cross-sell publishes tiered pricing, checked on 30 August 2026. Prices can change; the listing is authoritative. The structure is a free plan for development stores only, then paid bands capped by monthly orders or upsell revenue. The charge increases as either climbs past a band. For context on Shopify's own plan costs in francs, see What does Shopify cost in Switzerland?.
The real cost is not the entry fee. Past each band, a higher monthly price applies, and the current figures for every band are on the listing's full pricing table, not quoted here. Everything is charged in USD. Your revenue is in CHF. The exchange rate drifts, and so does your cost.
Shopify's review policies govern what merchants can post on app listings. Read the threshold behaviour at your actual order volume before upgrading, because tier jumps are not always intuitive.
| Plan | Price | Cap | Notes |
|---|---|---|---|
| Development stores | Free | Dev stores only | Test the funnel here before paying anything |
| Upsell Basic | On the listing, in USD | Up to ~50 orders / $50 upsell revenue | Entry band for small stores |
| Upsell Growth | On the listing, in USD | Up to ~100 orders / $100 revenue | Steps up with volume |
| Upsell Business | On the listing, in USD | Up to ~200 orders / $200 revenue | The full table runs higher |
| Above the bands | Usage-based | — | Charges rise with orders or revenue |
Stores with a thin order flow still sit in a paid band; there is no free tier for live stores. Before upgrading, find the band your order count and upsell revenue actually land in. Convert its price to francs at the day's rate, and confirm the lift covers it.
Multi-currency: what your customer sees at the offer moment
If you sell across the border into Germany, France or Italy, the post-purchase offer must display in the buyer's currency. A CHF price shown to a German customer who just paid in EUR is a trust failure. The listing does not document this behaviour in detail.
Eurostat reported in 2024 that the share of EU enterprises making e-sales rose from 18.93% in 2014 to 23.59%. That growing cross-border demand is the scenario where a mistimed currency display costs you the upsell.
The EU-wide threshold for distance sales within the EU has been EUR 10,000 since 1 July 2021, according to the European Commission. The same reform removed the VAT exemption for imported small consignments up to EUR 22. For a Swiss store selling into the EU, these rules shape the tax treatment of every cross-border parcel.
Place a test order in each currency you sell in. Verify the offer price matches the checkout currency. If it does not, contact the developer or do not install.
Checkout extensibility, Shop Pay and the fine print
Post-purchase funnels depend on Shopify's checkout extension point. Where that extension exists, ReConvert can show an offer. Where it does not, the app is silently unsupported.
Shop Pay is the first place to check. Its one-tap checkout bypasses the standard thank-you page. If a customer pays through Shop Pay, the post-purchase offer may not appear. The listing does not document this interaction clearly.
The TWINT at a Shopify checkout guide covers a related compatibility question. Payment methods that redirect away from the standard checkout can break post-purchase extensions. Custom themes and Shopify's new checkout extensibility also affect where the offer renders.
Statista reported in 2025 that smartphones accounted for nearly 80% of retail website visits worldwide. An offer that renders on desktop but breaks on mobile is not an offer. Test on a phone.
POS and B2B channels are separate. ReConvert targets online checkout. If your store relies on Shopify POS for in-person sales, the app adds nothing there.
A one-click post-purchase funnel, step by step
The setup is narrow by design. Shopify's platform limits where the extension point exists, and that narrowness is why flat-fee contenders cannot clone it.
- Install ReConvert from the Shopify App Store and grant the requested scopes.
- Open the drag-and-drop funnel builder and select "post-purchase offer" as the funnel type.
- Choose the product to upsell and set the discount or bundle price for the one-click offer.
- Configure trigger conditions: which orders see the offer, based on cart value or product.
- Publish the funnel and place a test order to verify the offer appears after payment clears.
- Check that the offer price renders in the customer's currency, not your store's default.
- Monitor the uplift in Shopify's reports over 30 days before judging the result.
The funnel shows one offer. Not a carousel, not a page of recommendations. The customer accepts or declines with a single click, and the add-on charge processes without re-entering payment details. That is the entire mechanism.
The drag-and-drop editor lets you customise the offer's appearance. It does not let you bypass Shopify's extension limits. If the extension point is unavailable for your checkout, no editor configuration will make the offer appear.
Nobody publishes the AOV lift — so measure it yourself
ReConvert's case studies lack baselines. Shopify publishes no figure for the average uplift a post-purchase funnel produces. No source provides a reliable number, and we do not invent one.
Nielsen Norman Group's 2026 report on e-commerce selling strategies runs 331 pages and contains 102 recommendations based on user research, drawn from tests across 350+ e-commerce websites. That is the depth of evidence behind good selling tactics. A vendor screenshot is not comparable.
Run a 30-day test. Note your average order value for the 30 days before installing. Then install, configure one post-purchase offer, and run for 30 days. Compare the two periods in Shopify's reports, not in ReConvert's dashboard. The app's dashboard cannot produce a baseline-adjusted lift because it has no access to your pre-installation data.
If the lift in AOV exceeds the tier price, in francs, the app pays for itself. If it does not, uninstall.
Who should pay for ReConvert, and who should not
The decision is arithmetic, not enthusiasm. Find the band your monthly orders and upsell revenue land in on the listing. Price it in francs at the day's rate and compare it to the lift you measured.
Do not install ReConvert if your store has only a trickle of orders. Every live order sits in a paid band, so a thin order flow cannot cover a subscription. Do not install it if shoppers in your category do not check order status or tracking. Do not install it if your fulfilment already sends complete carrier notifications through Swiss Post or your logistics provider, because the order-status feature adds nothing.
Our suggested decision checklist (copy this):
- Price the band your order count and revenue actually land in, in francs.
- Selling across CHF/EUR border: verified currency display on a test order.
- Using Shop Pay: confirmed the post-purchase extension still fires.
- Fulfilment already sends tracking: order-status feature adds nothing.
- The post-purchase funnel is your strategy: then ReConvert is the app to test.
- Only need cart offers or bundles: use a flat-fee app.
Pay for ReConvert when the post-purchase funnel is your strategy, the currency checks pass, and the 30-day test shows a lift that exceeds the cost in francs. Otherwise, do not.
Frequently asked questions
How much does Upsell.com/ReConvert really cost as my store grows?
The listing publishes banded pricing: each paid plan caps at a monthly order count or upsell revenue, and charges increase as either climbs. The figures are in USD and can change, so the listing is the source, checked on 30 August 2026. The development-stores plan is free, so you can build and test the funnel before committing to a paid band. Budget for the band price and add a buffer for the CHF/USD rate moving against you.
Does Upsell.com/ReConvert support multi-currency for cross-border sales?
The listing does not document multi-currency behaviour in detail. For a Swiss store selling into the EU, the offer must render in the buyer's currency at the moment they have just paid. Place a test order in each currency and verify the offer price matches the checkout currency. Eurostat data shows cross-border e-sales by EU enterprises are growing, so the volume of buyers seeing your offer in EUR is real.
Will ReConvert break my theme or slow down my store?
The post-purchase funnel uses Shopify's checkout extension point, not your theme's template files. It should not slow down your storefront. The risk is not theme breakage but checkout incompatibility: Shop Pay's one-tap checkout can skip the thank-you page where the offer renders. Test with a real order, not a preview.
Is ReConvert compatible with Shopify's new checkout extensibility?
ReConvert targets the post-purchase extension point that Shopify's new checkout provides. The listing does not publish a full compatibility matrix for every checkout configuration. Stores on Shopify Plus have more flexibility, but Plus is not required. If you use Shop Pay, POS, or B2B channels, verify the extension fires for each before relying on it.
